Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings Movie – Storyline:
A thousand years ago, a man named Su Venu found the Ten Rings, mystical weapons that grant their wearer immortality and great power. Venu gathered an army of warriors known as the Ten Rings and conquered many kingdoms and overthrew governments throughout history. In 1996, Venu began exploring the village of Ta Lo, which is said to harbor various mythical beasts, to increase his power. He finds the entrance to the village but is stopped by the village guardian, Young Li. The two eventually fall in love and have two children, Xu Shang-Chi and Xu Xialing. Venu gives up the ten rings and his organization to be with his family. However, Lee is eventually killed by the Iron Gang, old rivals of the Ten Rings and Veno picks up the rings to massacre them once again and resume his criminal activities. Shang Chi is brought to the Ten Rings compound to be trained in all forms of warfare by the Death Dealer, a high-ranking member of the Ten Rings. At the age of 14, Shang Chi is sent by Veno to assassinate the leader of the Iron Gang. Having accomplished his mission, a traumatized Shang Chi leaves the Ten Rings and flees to America, where he adopts the name "Shan".
Ten years later, Shang Chi lives in San Francisco and works as a server with his best friend, Katie Chen. One day while on their way to work on the Money Metro, Shang Chi, and Katie are attacked by members of the Ten Rings led by Razor Fist. Despite fighting them, Shang Chi discovers that he has taken the locket given to him by his mother. Fearing that the Ten Circles are going after Xiling for her pendant, Sheng Chi decides to track him down and reveals his past to Katie, who agrees to help him. They eventually find him at an underground fight club in Macau, which he owns. Shiling expresses her resentment towards Shang Chi for abandoning her family and neglecting her father. The fight club is then attacked by a regiment of Ten Rings led by the Death Dealer. Wino unexpectedly arrives during the attack and captures Shang Chi, Katie, and Ziling.
